Fantastic. Slight booze notes but overall sour with a bit of bitterness on the finish

Flaska drucken på Cantillon. En stor gueuze med en lätt armangacton. Mycket fatkaraktär, stall, komplex och sträv syra. Säd, strå, äpplen och lite citrus. En närmast fulländad Gueuze. Mycket gott.

Bottle @ Cantillon. Pours deep golden with a small creamy head. Very woody and vinous. Armagnac and barnyard. Soft and mellow. Really complex and lovely sipper. Dry finish..

Several bottle samples (2 or 3) during the days before and after Quintessence 2018. Deep golden pour with a frothy quickly dissipating offwhite head. Fairly simple lambic nose where malts, citrus, oak and cobweb are most noticable. Subtle yellow raisin brandyesque complexity lingering which is nice. Balanced sour taste. Soft, round, tart and balanced dry mouthfeel. Fairly soft carbonation. Good now with intriguing barrel character but I think it'll be even better with time and I'm happy to have a bottle to age. --- Beer merged from original tick of 50 Degrees N - 4 Degrees E Armagnac on 03 May 2018 at 13:48 - Score: 8. Original review text: Very interesting to try so close to trying the Chouke which according to the Brigittines staff is a gueuze made with part Armagnac BA lambic. The spirit is clearly there but I think the beer needs 6-12 more months to mellow out & really shine.

Bottle, at the brewery, shared with harrisoni. Pale gold. Soft haze. Dense, white foam. Nose has light funk. Honey. Light on the barrel. Some orange peel. Taste has a nice balance of sweet and back of the throat sour. Light and smooth mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. More balanced sweet and sour to finish. Low acidity throughout. Really nice.

Bottle at the brewery. Pours clear, glowing gold with a frothy, pure white head. Lovely stuff, some honey, biscuits, ripe lemon, restrained acidity, melon, pale wood. Medium to full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Lightly warming finish, lots of drying pale wood, hay, lemon, mellow funk. Great stuff overall.
