Can split at the 2nd CBJ tasting, thanks to Tipple, 31/08/23. Black with a big old lasting khaki head. Nose is cocoa powder, pine nip, charr, dark malts, spice. Taste comprises dark malts, charr, spice, grapefruit twist, caramel, pine needle. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with earthy hop bitterness. Decent CDA.

Can shared in London. Pours black-brown with a creamy beige head. Light sweet flavour with notes of ash, toasted pine, earth, orange rind and cocoa. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Decent balance to finish. Tasty.

Craft Beer Junction bottleshare. Thanks to Tips for the can. Almost opaque dark brown beer, good bubbly tan head. Airy palate, semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Airy tangy dark brown earthy malts, a little dark chocolate. Tangy ripe orange, bruised. Light and semi dry finish. Tired but not horrible.

deep dark brown, almost black colour, large, dense beige head, which lasts for several minutes; aroma of intensive grapefruit, lemon peel, lemongrass, some orange peel and some roasted notes; taste of grapefruity, lemony, pineapple, roasted nutty, over-toasted rye bread crusty and some coffee notes; great one

Virtually black with a frothy, light brown head. Aroma is a mix of pine and dark chocolate in fairly equal balance. Taste is bitter with plenty of hoppy sharpness at the end, and lingering resin. Body to the full side of medium, moderate carbonation. Decent for the style.

Hopfiger, allerdings auch ziemlich malziger Beginn. Deutliche Röstnoten, Schokolade, moderate Bitterkeit. Erhöhte Karbonisierung, langer cremiger Nachhall. Gut. 11/10/8/11/10/11

Hoppy, roast flavours, relatively easy for 7%. Not bad for a Geneva Christmas Fair
