Following the substantial demand for “wittekes” or white beer in the mid-Eighties, we decided to develop our own version of this beer style. We use regional hops from Poperinge, as well as ungerminated wheat and several herbs for the specific identity of this cloudy beer.

330 ml bottle. Almost clear golden body with a dense off-white head. Nice, not very strong aroma of citric fruit, yeast and wheat. Flavor is nice and refreshing, Wheat, citric fruit, spices, yeast and rather light on the typical banana and coriander flavors. Medium body and OK aftertaste. A bit more citric fruity than expected, but very refreshing and pleasant.

On tap at Pressklubben. Hazy yellow with a medium white head. Aroma of coriander, citrus and some light soap. Similar taste. Soft and easy to drink. The body was light.

Dorada clara, bastante menos espuma que en lo habitual del estilo. Nada que ver con el estilo, en general. Aroma a sidra. Sabor realmente diferente, para educar al paladar. El mío no lo está y me parece desagradable, con un sabor agrio y rancio nada aprovechable y un tono acuoso. Realmente mala para mi gusto.

Regional witbier following the Hoegaarden standard, pale yellow blonde colour with somewhat greenish hue, snow white head; bready malts, sourish wheat touch, citrus freshness, some coriander but not too strong, sharpish carbo. Very gentle example of the style and very quenching, but also quite boring.

Bottle from a gift. Hazy yellow colour, creamy white foam. Medium carbonation. Lemony aroma with spices (coriander). Light sweet, medium bitter aftertaste. Sour hints.

330 ml bottle. Pours a light lemon yellow with moderate head and lots of carbonation. Aromas of coriander and lemon polish. Flavors of lemon and grain/wheat. More like a heavily carbonated lemon soda. light but refreshing.
