3 year old 11.2oz bottle. A pinch oxidized. Sweet, heavy, rich...of course. Thick chocolate fudge, the Belgian yeast gives it fruity depth, almost a port like undertone. Even with that, a little bit one note, too big for its own good. Still enjoyable.

Aromas are dark malt, roast, toffee, molasses and a bit of Belgian yeast. Flavors are similar to nose, just a bit sweet with soft carbonation. A touch bitter to balance. Incredibly smooth. No sign of alcohol. Very nice.

Bottle from Havnens Vin Og Tobak. Pours opaque dark brownish black with small light brown head. Aroma is intense roasted malt, prunes, caramel, liquorice, raisins, Vegemite, soy sauce, gravy and hints of overripe apples and redcurrant. Taste is very sweet, light bitter, faint acidic and light salty. Body is oily with soft carbonation. Finish is long and mostly sweet with notes of roasted malt, liquorice, prunes, raisins, caramel, soy sauce, Vegemite and gravy, Very rich and well balanced.

Pours dark brown into a tulip. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving trailing sheets. Chocolate covered pit fruit aromas. Sweet and tart with dark chocolate covered cherry upfront turning to oak and espresso in the sweet, lasting finish.

Bottle at home, cellared this one for 1.5 years. Pours black with an off-white head. Nose is chocolate, coffee, booze, molasses, some caramel. Taste is sweet malty, chocolatey and sugary, there are dried fruits and molasses in there. Oh and it's heavily boozy. Also, pretty thin for the ABV. Underwhelming, sadly.

On tap at Sovereign DC. Leggy deep brown, beige head. Nose has port and malt and toast, a little ketchup. Flavors same. Booze is there but it's red wine lees. 6 4 7 3 13

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is dark malt, liquorice, light roast, dried fruit, caramel, candy sugar. Flavour is sweet with some booze in the finish. Above medium body. Bit too heavy on the liquorice for me.

330ml bottle [vintage 2018]. Jet black colour with minimally late awakening, small, creamy, fading, tan head. Roasty, chocolately, dark and caramel malty, slightly spicy, minimally woody and vinous fruity aroma, notes of dark chocolate, dark caramel, a touch of blue grapes, marmite, cinnamon, black cherry, Port, plum. Taste is slightly dry woody and vinous fruity, slightly bitter with roasty dark malty and hoppy aspects, roasty dark malty basis with very low residual sweetness, hints of blue grapes, some oak, dark chocolate, coffee, a tannic touch; well hidden alcohol. Oily texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy, simultaneously minimally dry palate, fine, dense, soft carbonation. Rich and complex, evolving - good!
