At Kerstbierfestival 2015. Pours dark, chocolaty brown. Good white head. Smell is grainy, mild bitterness. Taste is dark malts, bit sweet, mild bitterness. Decent MF and carbo.

Sampled @ O.B.E.R. Kerstbierfestival 2014, Essen. Rötlichbraunes Bier mit einer ordentlichen leicht beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, etwas Röstmalz, Karamell, Gewürze. Geschmack röstmalzig, sehr fruchtig, etwas bitter, würzig.

Sampled draft @ O.B.E.R. Kestbierfestival 2014. (Thx!) Clear oily brown amber with no head. Nose is muted leaves, yeast, plants, very sweet. Taste is bitter leaves, herbal malts, bitter herbs, something rotting & bit nasty. Med. body. Eh.

Winter beer with deep reddish bronze colour and creamy head. Fruity aroma of plums, cherries, raisins, mild spiciness, something woody and something yoghurt-like; sweet maltiness, caramel, candied fruits, refreshened with a slight sourish touch almost reminiscent of an oud bruin. Bit thin finish.

On tap at Domus, called Nen Engel, ABV 8%. Dark amber-brown colour, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, dark fruits, forest fruits, sweet amber malts, light spice like aniseed/coreander. Flavour is sweet, spicy, light metallic, dark fruits and forest fruits, caramel, light tart, alcholic bitter finish with some spice. Medium-bodied.

Tap @ 18de Kerstbierfestival, Essen 2012. Cuivrée/rubis, col fin beige. Arôme est fruité noirs, léger en épice - kruiden - le tout reste assez faiblard. Palais est moyen avec ce relent de fruits noirs, acétone ou alors possible trop d’épices. Profil reste très belge avec dans l’ensemble ce côté typique de malt carapils, dark fruité noir moyen.
