My 1000th RateBeer rate! 22 oz bottle poured into a snifter. Hazy dark amber with almost a finger of off-white head. cognac, caramel, dark fruit. Tastes of cognac, dark fruit, raisins, caramel. toffee, candied fruit. Full body with a dry finish. Low carbonation, thick syrupy mouthfeel. Cognac feels well integrated and not over the top. Pretty smooth for the ABV.

Bouteille 66cl @ RBBSG III, courtesy of Thirstybird.

650 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG III. Thanks to thirstybird! Hazy amber. Sweet malts, caramel, caramel fruits, sweet brown sugar, slightly warming, light fruits, didn’t get cognac nor did anyone else if I am not mistaken. Enjoyable barley wine but I was hoping a bit for something more rich and excessive.

Bomber from Imbibe Wine bottled on 4/10/14. Nose is sweet vanilla toffee, golden raisins, light pecan notes, and some floral bits sweet and candilike. Cherry brown with a medium, heavy lacing, beige head. Flavor is sweet, fruity, and nutty with a bit of the cognac and some background bitterness. Very nice with the barrel aging!!!

Pours deep mahogany into a snifter. Mocha head with little retention recedes to mottle surface. Cognac, toffee and dark caramel aromas. Full with sweet caramel and dark malt upfront turning to warming cognac in the lasting mildly bitter earth finish.

Bottle - Sweet caramel and booze. Cloudy amber with a thin beige head. Sweet plum, vinous, toffee and a sweet and tart finish. The booze is well masked and finish is quite light considering the bold taste. Sweetness is a bit over the top, but normal for the style.
