Belgian Wits are traditionally brewed with orange peel and coriander, so to add a flavourful and modern twist on a classic we enlisted the help of our pals at Genuine Tea. We replaced the orange peel with another classic - Earl Grey. Made with the oil of Bergamot Orange citrus, the tea gives this beer a unique flavour while honouring the classic beer style.

473ml can drunk at home as part of a delivery from Ghost Whale. A really light colour, like a clear creamy yellow. Coriander dominates the aroma, with light biscuity and floral notes. Tastes very sweet at first but the bitterness starts to kick in mid-sip with a grainy savoury spiciness at the end. Body is incredibly watery, with high carbonation. It was okay.

Can @ Home. Pours slightly hazy with a white head. Aroma of wheat, sweet fruit, light banana, light orange, tea. Flavor is wheat, fruit, herbal, tea, light coriander. Thin to medium body, average to lively carbonation. 190920

473ml can. (As: Collective Arts Earl Grey Wheat). Pours a hazy straw colour with a small, foamy, short lived, white head that laces. Aroma of wheat malt, black tea, coriander, lemon rind and floral hops. Sweet flavour of bready wheat malt, black tea, earthy yeast, orange peel, coriander, black pepper and floral hops in a dry finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. The bergamot needs to be more pronounced, but it's refreshing and easy to drink. Good, not great.

Clearish gold with a rich white head. Banana notes and light perfume. Banana, perfumy bergamont and a light bitterness. Banana esters really take away from this.

Pours a slight hazy, very light golden bright colour with a frothy, almost creamy white cap, decent stay and some foamy lacing. Big orange nose at first pour. Then, the spices, banana and other floral notes come out. The wheat comes out in the flavours with the bananas again. Not too sweet, not syrupy with mild hops dry finish. Fairly light mouthfeel. Really feels like a Witbier with a lightly hoppier finish. Still, pretty tame overall with all of the nice things added to this one. I am a big Earl Grey fan and the Bergamot does not come through enough. Still pretty good !

473ml can [as 'Earl Grey Wheat']. Minimally cloudy, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with average, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, snow-white head. Wheaty malty, spicy and minimally floral-fruity as well as herbal aroma, notes of bergamot, a touch of coriander, a citrusy touch as well. Taste is slightly dry, spicy and floral-fruity, minimally herbal, wheaty malty with subtle sweetness, notes of bergamot, some orange, a touch of coriander. Watery texture, indifferent palate, slightly prickly carbonation. Very well balanced, refreshing, pretty good interpretation of the style - really nice summer beer.

Can (4/10/20) ) pour from Worldwide Wine & Spirits. Appearance is lightly hazy pale yellow with no sparkle, 1+ finger-width white foamy head with trace lacing. Aroma is strong, rich wheat with lighter earth. Taste is wheat, roasted malt bordering on what you'd find in a golden stout, late Bergamot; an air of coriander floating above the beer throughout. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, I like the roasted quality of the malts but otherwise am not appreciating fully all the disparate elements that are supposed to be in there.

Refrigerated pint can from mansquito, canned April 10, 2020 poured into a glass. Clear blonde with small white head. Aroma is coriander, medium body, medium/light carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is coriander, wheat esters, bergamot, and tea.

Blond, with a slight haze and a medium thick head. The aroma has a lot of plasticy stuff - runaway phenols, getting in the way of all the other things I should be smelling. There is a bit of orange on the palate - could be the bergamot, could be the coriander. It's still too sticky, the phenols still not right. It's a sloppy wit, half-heartedly covered up with some superfluous adjuncts. Not grasping the point.
