The latest installment in our long-running “Hello My Name is…” series. Brewed in collaboration with Jeppe from Evil Twin Brewing, this beer has been fittingly named after Jeppe’s mum … because she’s a Danish woman and that’s kind of how this series works. Single hopped with Mosaic and loaded with well over 100kg of blueberries, this big fruity hop bomb is everything you want in a woman. Or a man. Come say ‘Hi’ to Sonja!

Flaske 0,33l fra Vinmonopolet, Tromsø Sentrum. Drukket på RV124 17 Feb 14. Gyldenbrun. Høyt luftig skum som etterlater litt lacing. God bæraroma med innslag av aprikos. Smaken er søt frukt. Avslutter bittert. Utmerket øl!

330ml bottle from brewdog.com. Lovely fresh fruity aroma, pours a reddish-copper colour. A grapefruit bitterness just about beats the fruitiness for your attention and although you hope the blueberries overtake before the end they trail behind for the duration. It’s a nice fruity shine to a nice double IPA, and the mosaic makes itself known all too well. An enjoyable beer even if the pieces don’t gel too perfectly.

200ml glass, on tap at Crowbar. Almost clear amber coloured body. Beige head that laces nicely. Dried fruity aroma with mid-sweet brown malts behind. Succulent hop driven taste, lemon, orange and grapefruit. Solid bitter endnotes. A well-crafted beer (Meet up with Arve Christian,Oslo 12.02.2014).

330ml bottle from Brewdog online store. Pours a deep orange amber colour, with a foam white head leaving lots of lacing and aroma of tropical fruit mango, berries, hoppy. Taste is juicy fruits, orange, pine, hop, grassy, alcohol and lingering bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry warming finish. Very drinkable DIPA.

Bottle at home. The colour is slightly hazy amber with a medium, creamy and light beige head. Fruity and compact aroma with grassy hops, grapefruit, some caramel and hints of berries. The flavour is more malty and has more grassy hops, some berry sweetness and hint of alcohol. Has a soft and rich mouthfeel, and a medium to heavy bitterness. A nicely balanced DIPA, but not very complex as expected. Decent enough.
