Bottle sample @ ZBF’13 shared with the RB Belgian crew. Brune-cuivre trouble, col beige crémeux. Arôme sucré moyen fruité, malt caramel. Palais est malté, fruité rouge et noir tirant vers prune avec selon le brasseur un ajout de Porto. Ce dernier contribue peu a donner une dimension intéressante à la bière. Léger palais sucre-brun, reste belge dans l’approche, med-haute effervescence. Au final une bière à façon agréable mais sans plus.

Small white rim over chestnut-brown beer. Dark (German) bread, sweet-ish, nutty, melanoidins. Sweet, human sweat, parsley, melanoidin-filled, meaty-estery even. Pretty unbalanced. Medium bodied at least, not much carbonation (left). Not really uplifting - still, drinkable. Started off much as a Dunkler Bock.

33 cl. bottle sampled @ ZBF 2013. “Aged” on Porto barrels. Reddish brown, light off-white head. Mellow sweet caramel toffee in the nose, light berries, Porto,… Sweet taste with light Porto dash, sweet spices, red wines, tannins, caramel malts, light toffee,… Medium bodied. Agreable.

27/IV/13 - 33cl bottle @ Zythos Bierfestival (2013-403) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing our beers today!

Clear red brown beer, creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: dried fruits, port notes, red wine, marzipan, banana. MF: ok carbon, light to medium body. Taste: little bitter, caramel, red wine, tannins, dry. Aftertaste: bitter, hoppy, more red wine, caramel, hay.
