23.06.2013, tap (with a watermelon slice in the glass) @ Boston Beer Works Canal St.:
Tiny shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly fruity, artificial, watermelon juice, sugar, grass, hay, light malts. Taste is slightly harsh, light malts, artificial watermelon juice, sugar, grass, wet hay. Medium bitterness and dry mouthfeel. Next!

Draft @ Canal St. location on 7 June 2013 before the Bruins vs. Penguins Game 4. OK, I told the bartender to keep the watermelon wedge that they put on the rim of the glass. Watermelon doesn’t have a strong aroma, neither does this. Maybe light traces of pale malts. The flavor for sure has a Jolly Rancher melon flavor. Sweet melon in the finish. Weak wheat backbone. The body and texture is watery. Yeah, that’s all I got. Not terrible just cheap and unexciting.

Draught at the Boston brewpub. Hazy yellow colour. Small white head. The flavour is slightly fruity with a bit of bubble gum. I cannot identify any watermelon.

A golden ale with a thin white head, served with a slice of watermelon. In aroma, fruity watermelon and berries, candy floss, not too cloying. In mouth, a sweetish oily ale with chemical fruity pulp, solvants, light German hops, not bad. On tap at Canal St. brewpub July 11 2010.

Sample from tap at the brewpub in Canal street. Pours pale yellow and served with a piece of melon. Aroma is very fruity, melon obviously, but also peach notes. Flavour is melon with a peach note. Finish is fruity, not sweet. Has some bitterness a bit into the finish. Nice different fruit beer.

Sample at Beer Works Fenway: Definitely points for originality, as this is served with a wedge of watermelon. I am against be-fruited beers on principle but at least this is different. The beer itself is a pale golden color with columns of bubbles and a medium thin and fluffy white head that is gone fast. Fruity aroma with a touch of hops. Light and somewhat watery body with sweet watermelon flavor and not much else. The finish is sweet and fruity and short. A novelty to be sure but still better than a light macro.

Enjoyed with apoptosis and notalush at the Canal Street location. Hey, I thought this was a cool idea. A Pale Ale with some watermelon flavor added. Creative, the watermelon slice on the side of the glass was a cool as well. The watermelon had a bit of a jolly rancher flavor but never got too sweet or too artifical. But I also just low watermelon so I may be a bit biased.

On draught at BeerWorks Fenway, 7/2/2005. Served with a watermelon wedge, it has a small bit of bubbles that are rapidly dissipating. Clear, and sort of a golden-bronze color, no lacing. Aroma has a rather light watermelon extract smell to it, backed mostly by dry grains, something lightly sour as well. Not particularly fresh or authentic smelling, though not quite cheap/candyish. Flavor begins very watery, lightly sour/soapy, with a watermelon flavor that is sweet, mild and pretty much the only thing really going on here. Terribly watery through the middle but has a bit of a reprieve on the end, with a hint of graininess, light wheat (or a strange sourness coming from who knows where, if it’s not wheat). Large, rather irritating bubbles burst in the mouth and the carbonation is too sharp on the throat as well. Slick, oily, mouthfeel. Though the watermelon is not overdone, it still manages to get borderline cloying on the end, as it’s all you really taste, and it’s, as I said, not terribly real tasting.
