Bottle at Borefts BF ’10. Black colour, brown head. Aroma of hard roasted malts, bourbon, but also spices like rosemary, some cardemon, laurel. Flavour is sweet, herbal, light bourbon, hard roasted coffee, earth, strong bitter finish. Creamy and fullbodied. Very good.

Bottled. Quite much pitch black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is spices, alcohol, wood, some toffee, roasted malts and mild notes of dark dry fruits. Flavour is roasted malts, alcohol, dark dry fruits and some mild notes of sour wooden notes. Quite thick, but still a bit "empty" as well.

Hopscotch rocks, when this came around the table I was super excited. What a great base beer, throw in some barrel, this was super good. Pours black with a dark brown head. Aroma is black patent, burnt sugar and bourbon. Flavor is mildly roasted malt, some coffee and oats, ends with a nice complex barrel mixture of stale wood, syrupy bourbon and maple. Top notch.

6th June 2010. RBESG 10 Grand Tasting at the Brasserie 4:20 Warehouse. Big thanks to Alex for letting us pilfer this from his warehouse shelves! Opaque black beer. Thick creamy tan head. Light soft palate. Soft chocolately malt. Minerally lactose sweetness. Pinch of spice. Finishes light and minerally. Very easy drinking for a big beer!

Big thanks to yespr for this one. Bottle looks great, as well as the beer in the glass. Deep black, brown head. Starts very strong and dry, bitter, notes of strong coffee and bitter chocolate. Finish drier, woody, a bit scratchy and a bit unbalanced. I think the bourbon barrel aging didn’t add too much positive to this beer. But still really good!

Bottle @ Odense Tasting, April 2010. Pours pitch black with a large creamy brown head and lacings. Nose is pepper and hard roasted malts. Strong and smooth flavor with caramel, bourbon and chocolate. Seems a bit raw and not as mellow as I hoped. Nevertheless its very tasty!

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thick brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, and some whiskey. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, alcohol, and whiskey, leading to a dry very woody whiskey finish.
