33cl bottle. Light amber color, clear, small and short lived bubbly offwhite head, fizzy look. Something mineral on the nose. Somewhat grainy, sour bread, some spicy yeast. A bit of caramel and a metallic component, with apple on the esters side. Taste is sour. Finish is moderately bitter. Texture tend to be oily, body is very thin for the style. Huh, a weird one, didn’t like it much, far away from Karmeliet.

Bouteille 330ml.

Originally rated December 2005. Bought at the LCBO, part of a 4 bottle pack with one De Koninck glass. This tripel pours an amber colour with a small head, but good lace. Cinnamon is found in the aroma, with some caramel, fruit and notes of honey. The mouthfeel is lacking, thin-bodied. Even the taste is under-par for this type of beer. Some spices, but very, very smooth. Too bad, good start for this one... but lacks in the flavour department.

Bottle. Rose gold with a small white head. Some floaties. Aroma of caramel, dough and oranges. Dull mouthfeel - although it’s not undercarbonated. Taste is sweet with lots of caramel, some spices and flowers. Gently drying at the end. A little past best before date, but the hops are completely outgunned here.

A little above average tripel, probably the best beer from Brewery De Koninck, in my opinion at least. Not the best smell but nice carbo and body.

I don’t like the smell of koninck. Other than that it doesn’t have major flaws but i just don’t really like it.

Very dark gold color, near to amber. Big fruit aroma, cherry. Sweet and rounded fruity flavors. Somewhat balanced, though not as dry or hoppy as I would like in a tripel. Very fruity and a bit too sweet. Not very tripel like.
