well, this right off the bat doesnt seem to live up to its other belgian tripel bretheren. First thing i’m smelling is booze, and its only an 8% beer. I’m having trouble getting this down, the flavour is all out of whack, kinda tastes like fermented rotting fruit, wow, this is bad, must be an off bottle.

Some mango fruit in aroma and flavor. Some alcohol. There is hopbitterness present, but that is overpowered by the alcohol and fruit. Fairly thin. Nice, very drinkable beer, but by no means a great tripel.

The successor of Cuvée De Koninck since 2004 but sweeter, even a bit cloying, orangey peach blonde colour, fruity and malty, bit cliché aroma, not much body for a tripel. Has been replaced itself now, by Triple d’Anvers.

Bit boring and average tripel. Taste is quite flat and the body thin. Pilsner like tripel.

Thx! to Kraddel for the bottle. 33 cl. bottle sampled. Presumably 2008 or 2009 Vintage. Clear amber with an off-white head. Nose carries very dominant oxidation notes but this has oxidized very well, honey & caramel notes, flowers, sugar, fruits with light dates. Taste is the same deal with oxidation, faint sherry, honey, caramel, lots of brown & candy sugar, toffee, sweet, flowers, faint floral, biscuit, toast,… Slick but not very heavy oxidized. Didn’t expect anything from this one, I am a bit surprised as to how well this has kept, tripel’s should have the ability to withstand some time. This I assume was a mediocre beer that probably drinks better now than it ever did. Also where is this like distributed? I have never seen this one but there are lots of recent ratings of it up here.
