Arend Tripel is a golden, blond delicious tripel with an ageable hoppy scent, a silken mouthfeel; a subtle malty taste, a delicate bitterness of hops and a delicious aftertaste with a surprising fruitiness without being overly sweet. It has a very balanced and enjoyable bitter finish that lingers briefly.

Bottle, 75cl. Itβs almost clear in the glass, with a golden color and a finger-thick head sitting on top. Thereβs some alcohol in the aroma, with fruits, some spices and white sugar soon chiming in for the heavy work. Itβs quite sweet in the mouth, with some warming qualities. Medium body, drying up towards the end. Thereβs also pale malts, a generic fruityness and some lemon in the flavor. A bit low on bitterness maybe, but it gets stronger in the finish, where the warmth is quite present. In a pleasant way though. A beer that feels quite simple in a way, but actually is really nice. 091230

33cl. Pours a dark yellow to orange coloured beer. Fine creamy and thick white head. Smells like spices, citrus and hops. A very pleasant full bitter taste with a hint of alcoholsweetness. Aftertaste ends dry with some hints of citrus and koriander. One of the best tripels I had in the past few months!

Verdammt! explosively agressive gusher with a timed delay - took me quite by surprise, and now my socks and trousers are wet, not to mention that the floor also got some. what beer is left is clear orange, smooth white head. appearance penalty points for getting my feet wet. dry cellary and yellow fruity aroma , smells good.(jokes about my feet now smelling good will be ignored). also slightly boozy. flavor is sweet as in sweet apple, then yellow fruits (dry versions of peach, pear, orange, pineapple all mixed up) yeast and what almost tastes like wheat. discreetly balanced by bitter hops (grapefruit peel). [re-rate apr 2011. Non-gushing version, tasted somewhat better, quite complex. aroma anise spices, lkemongrass, faint nutty, flavor yellow fruits, anise, brown sugar, malts. 2,8,8,3,16]

Tap at ZBF 2010. Lighter than the Speciale, this one had aroma of white pepper and flavor of licorice & almonds. Bitter finish. Nice.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, consumed 20-12-09 Pours very light amber, quite hazy with a fast diminishing white head. Touch of sour fruitiness on the nose. some yeast, some alcohol and spice also showing. Much of the above is also present in the mouth, with warmth from the alcohol, touch fruitier than expected a little bitterness. It fine but no great shakes. A6 A3 F6 P3 Ov12 3.0

12th May 2008. Unusual tripel in as much as it seems malty more than anything. Virtually none of the expected tripel dry fruitiness. Just a little sourness and a bitterish finish.

Bottled 750ml (BS, BB 02/2010). A bit leaked bottle. Hazy orange color, small white head. Fruity, yeasty and dusty aroma. Crisp carbonatiion. Yeasty fruity (peach marmalade), a bit spicey and alcoholic flavor. Same dusty yeastyness in the flavor than in the nose. Quite simple tripel.
