Raspberry beer is brewed on the basis of Bacchus Vlaams Oud Bruin and surprises with a nice balance between sweet and sour. The brewer uses roasted malts that give a light caramel touch to the fruit beer. The aromas of sweet raspberries in combination with the sweet and sour of the base beer result in a spicy specialty beer.

Bottiglia. Il naso viene catturato dal lampone. L'olfatto viene stimolato in maniera elevata e la maniera in cui permane è sufficiente. Il cappello di schiuma resiste abbastanza. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il colore è scuro impenetrabile. Il corpo è pieno. Il dolce è medio. L'amaro è poco presente. La forza gustativa è elevata e la persistenza è buona. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è di decente intensità. Sul tetto della bocca si attestano sentori di miele, lampone, agrumi e frutta secca.

Bottle @ Patricks. Clear reddish body with a small pink head. Aroma like cherry/raspberry juice with mild, fruity acidity. Taste is sweet raspberry juice, red berries with some acidity but still way too sticky sweet. No depth, too sweet and one-dimensional.

Bottle, 375ml, at Patricks. An almost clear one, amber to chestnut colored beer with some bubbles on top. Dark dried fruit, caramel, raisin in particular and a hint of lemony acidity and vinegar. A good dash of raspberry too. It's full bodied and smooth on the palate, lightly sour, with lots of raspberry flavors. Raisin and lemon hints. Long finish. A bit sweet, but might work well with the right food. 240223

Bottle, 0.375l. Aroma of raspberries, yoghurt, cereals and candy sugar. Pours cloudy dark brown color with thin creamy tan-like head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with overly sweet and sour raspberries, following is slightly herbal and a bit citrusy, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is mild bitter. 375ml bottle. Pours dark brown, reddish, with very limited foam. Aroma is of red berries and also cherries. Body is average, with moderate carbonation. Taste is rather sweet, with very moderate sourness. Final is dry.

(Draught at Gollem Craft Beers, Amsterdam, 18 Feb 2023) Dark red colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with raspberries, caramel, and red fruit. Fruity, sweet taste with notes of raspberries, red fruit, caramel, a touch of wood and a sweetish finish with fairly low bitterness. Medium body, quite sweet. Not overly complex, but tasty and refreshing with lots of raspberries. Nice one.

--Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Hazy deep burgundy colour, small head. Intense, somewhat balsamic, aroma of cultivated raspberries. Sweet with light to medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Saccharine and sweet raspberries, slight woody notes. Low bitterness. Unnecessarily sweet.
