Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is fairly fruity with cherries, raisins, figs, prunes and berries. Some light red wine notes. Toffee, caramel, toasted bread and hints of chocolate. Hints of alcohol and acidity. Pours dark brown, almost black with a medium sized, fairly thick, dark tan head that recedes very quickly to a thin film that hangs around on the edges for quite a bit. No lacing or legs. Flavor is somewhat acidic with moderately strong fruit notes and some lighter malt character. Lots of cherry and raisin with lighter berry, cassis, plum and prune and fig notes. Light notes of caramel, toffee, toasted bread and chocolate. Light oak notes and low bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a better beer than I was expecting. I don’t generally like dark sours so I was expecting the worst considering how dark the beer is, but its actually really nice and drinkable. Acidity is pretty light, but present and its very fruity.

Bottle at RBWG Asheville Grand Tasting. Pours clearish brown with a creamy tan head. Leathery tart fruits in the nose. Medium sweet flavor, slightly metallic, lots of acetic berries, leather, funk. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Tart, acetic finish, certainly leathery, some blistering sourness. Not bad.

750mL bottle, sent from futuraxz (thanks a lot, Will), pours a deep dark mahogany / brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out tart dark fruits, considerable brett, some vinegar, and red wine barrels. Flavour is very complex, with loads of brett, red wine barrels, a little vinegar and tart red fruits. Everything is superbly well-integrated, with the most dominant notes being red wine and tart fruits. Carbonation is lively, which is suitable for the style. Excellent stuff.
