A sneakily complex beer, "TWSS" exhibits flavors of milk chocolate, fresh roasted coffee, caramel, and even a hint of smoke. It is absolutely loaded with flavor for a 5.6% beer, and the inclusion of Lactose takes the edge off of the dry, roasty notes found in a typical stout. The adult chocolate milk shake. . . soft, creamy, and luscious while maintaining supreme drinkability - just the way we like it! A beer that is notorious for converting ‘pale’ beer lovers to the dark side!

Pours black with dark brown highlights around the edges. Soft, khaki head. It’s a thick blanket of small bubbles. Great lacing, good head retention. Lots of chocolate in the aroma with some gentle roast. Nice lactic edge. Loads of milk chocolate. The taste is similar. It’s medium sweet with lots of cocoa flavor. The relatively mild lactic note keeps the beer from getting cloying. Plus, there is very little of the cola flavor that I tend to find a bit overbearing in other examples. Mouthfeel is creamy and gentle. They filled this growler right up to the top, leaving nearly zero head space, and the beer kept very well. Pretty much perfect for the style. Very impressive stuff. I’m not the biggest milk stout fan, but this is just how I like them.

Growler shared in London - picked up at the brewery five days beforehand. Pours rich brown with a thick, frothy tan cap. Great aroma, filled with milk chocolate, toasted nuts, hefty roasted malts and burnt marshmallows. Medium sweet flavor with dry milk chocolate, good roastiness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Great balance in the finish, more milk chocolate, adequate roast, rich toasted bread. Delicious and highly drinkable. Very solid.

Craft Clerkenwell tasting. Thanks to Leighton for this evenings New England haul. Opaque dark brown - black beer. Good bubbly tan head. Palate is softish, airy and light. Light touch of dark malts with mild roast and coffee. Little malt cream and mellow dark chocolate. Light dry finish. Tasty.

2 Liter growler. Dark black color even when held to bright sunlight. Warm pour with the growler sitting in the sun for quite awhile. Nose is chocolate, roasted coffee beans and tobacco. Taste is mostly the same and really damn tasty. Light notes of lactose sugar with the Sweet chocolate and coffee flavors. Even at a very warm temperature the mouthfeel was creamy and body leaning on the full side. Loads of flavor at 5.4 %. Real nice job with this Stout!!
