Just a bit cloudy, absolutely no head. Strong banana aroma, it also smells like Red Bull energy drink. Sweet with still a good deal of sourness. Banana and a Red Bull flavor. Syrupy with hints of coffee. Surprisingly good beer, I could drink this all evening.

Bottle at Kulminator. Almost clear golden liquid with a minimal white head. Aroma of banana, sugar, lemon, mint and cardboard. Taste is high sweet and light sour with notes of banana, sugar, lemon and cardboard. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Horribly sweet and weird.

De Troch Whale enjoyed at the Kulminator. Initial impressions are great... clear bottle, hand-drawn label and 3 E-numbers on the ingredients list! It pours clear golden with a medium white head. The nose is damn sweet, sherbet, parma violets, energy drink, refreshers and love hearts (the sweet). The taste is refreshers, tangy fruit, energy drink, sugar, mouth-puckering tanginess and fruit-salad sweets with a dry finish. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation and sticky-mouth-feel. Pretty perverse stuff all-round. If you need an energy drink and want to consume some lambic at the same time this could very well indeed be the drink you need!

bottle shared in delirium cafe by i think siebeltje ?? than i had a bottle for my own @ kulminator. pours lager-ish, but withoud the foam. smells like candy your grandma woul buy in the 90’s, wich she’d now open for you... old and yuck... taste is like a bad version of energy drink, combined with again that old candy-thing. drinkability is extremely high, but if i wouldnt know it was a beer / it had alcohol , i would have never guessed it

25cl bottle shared by Martinus, in line with the abyssimal beers that De Troch keeps producing.

Golden colour, no head. Sweet aroma, reminding a lot of energy drink, bit old, old banana, recognisable De Troch yeasts. Sweet flavour, old sweeteners, banana. Sweet finish.
Rather like an old energy drink. I liked it for the queer value, but it isn’t and never was a great beer I’m affraid.
(clear 25cL bottle shared @ pre-Zwanze 2012 tasting. No date, but it must be old)

2001 Vintage @ Kulminator // clear 25 cl. bottle // full name De Troch B12 Energy Beer Cerveza de la Revolucion // label is hand drawn, cheap style with a small image in the corner of Ché // this is quite a weird gimmick beer & curiosity finally got the best of me // ingredients of this read more like an energy drink than a beer which this sort of is lambic & water (both are listed as ingredients), min. 1 % banana juice, caffeine, vitamins B2 – B6 & B12 (obviously, would have felt left down if this wasn’t hear) // poured into Troch gauze glass, this beer is completely clear green-hued yellow, sediment in the bottle is defiantly greenish, looks like there are tiny bits of grass in it, very little, patchy head // smell is very, very sweet, smells of Redbull & banana grenadine & like they poured about 50 grams of white sugar into it // taste has probably held up fantastically well, I imagine this tasting exactly the same 11 years ago, all the chemical stuff on the label & the sugar probably acted like conservatives, taste is heavily sweet, I can still get into it but even if you really like sweet thing, this is really pushing it, taste like a blend of Monster energy drinks with Redbull & lots of banana grenadine, white sugar (lots), the is quite insanely sweet // body is energy drink like, softer carb. // no way in hell that you can pick up lambic here but I expected an energy drink & this better than what I feared // I like Monster, I like this

Combination of bubblegum, red bull, bananas and candy. Disgusting. If Che Guevarra would have wanted brewers to use his sign, than it would be for a good beer, not this commercial crap!

Bottle at RBG Low Countries 2005 Clear, yellow body. White head. The aroma reminded me of the smell a factory where I worked for a week. And over there they made food for cows. It was fruity, rotten banana, sweet. Heavily sweet flavour. Lightly body. Very bad.
