Bottle at home, imported from Milan, 5th May 17. Pours mahogany brown, but of a surprise. Aroma is yeast, caramel, slight sourness. Taste is light caramel, Belgian yeast, coffee, bitter, followed with a bitter sweet yeasty linger. Loads going in for the extreme low ABV. Almost like a Session Belgian Strong.

Bottle brewed at Toccalmatto from World Beer Market. This collaboration between Toccalmatto & Extraomnes called Tainted Love is a 4.7% saison that I got for a song as it was best before Jan.1st 2015 - I figure a few weeks won’t do it any harm. Once I saw the name all I could think of was that son... Tainted Love... When I read it was a saison I expected something light & golden not this brooding brown beast with the thick fluffy light beige head. The nose is tart berries, mint with some acidity. Medium bodied. The taste is cocoa powder, mint herbalness & has some complimentary acidic tart fruitiness. A strange hybrid of a beer but it works well enough - tasty.

Bottle drank on the street in Rome, somewhat near to Vatican City. Pours clearish, cola brown with a large, lasting frothy macchiato head. Dry and lightly toasted malts in the nose, with plenty of spicy yeast and faint farmyard. Light sweet flavor, a bit dry, with some burnt grass, light manure, horse blanket and modest leathery fruits. Light bodied with average to lively carbonation. Super clean on the finish with light brett funk, leather, mellow manure, dry brown bread and spicy yeast. Really drinkable and quite dynamic.

11/11/12/11/11/12

750ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, grey-ish, off-white head. Intense fruity aroma has notes of red and dark berries, dry hints of tobacco, foliage, a peppery touch. Taste is initially moderately tart and dry, fruity, hints of red and dark berries, later dry with hints of fruit parings, peppery, spicy, yeasty overtones, in the finish dry, earthy, hints of sand, chalk, tobacco, cardboard.
