Draft sample @ Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas // Italian Beer Festival // (a) black with a small tanned head // (s) man, my handwriting on these notes sucks, I think it is supposed to be, smells like yeast, dark fruit, nuts, spices & brief hint of sour twang // (t) glue malts, nuts, dark fruits, bitter floral hops finish, touch cocoa, bitter finish, quite yeast, disintegrated parts // (b) light malty, soft carb. // not particularly crazy about it, weakest one of the beers I tried at the Italian fest, maybe more Extraomnes than Toccalmatto (?), not saison-like either

11/04/2012 Domus Birrae (330ml bottle). Bruna, poco densa, schiuma bianco sporca, abbastanza persistente. Aroma di frutta tropicale, con note erbacee, di mela verde (acetaldeide?) e un lieve tocco terroso, sentori di tostato e lieviti. In bocca risulta un po’ timida e corta, si sente la base di saison, con note tostate appena evidenti. Acquosa, leggera, scarica di corpo. Originale, senza dubbio, ma non mi ha fatto una grande impressione. Un punto in più nell’overall per l’originalità.
