12 oz. bottle, loose @ Binnyβs. The most-rated mega-brew that I havenβt tried, til now. And hereβs why. Date stamped May 10, β10, so maybe not entirely their fault, but the screw top crown comes off a bit too easily for comfort. Smell is skunky and a bit bilious. Clearly not the experience of other raters. Looks like a halfway decent brown beer, at least. Taste is a bit of an improvement. Dark roasts with some graininess. At least that covers up any adjunct. Gassy finish. But it totally met my lowered expectations.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a reddish amber with small off-white head. Some lacing, nice body, and some carbonation. Taste is pretty close to an Irish red ale, well balanced malt and hops.

Bottled@The 1st Vaasa CS/ES beer session (thanks ER). Amber colour with mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is slightly fruity, rich on the bready malts, some slight floral hoppyness and grass as well. flavour is much the same with some slight sweetish notes. Actually very pleasant to drink.

12oz bottle. Pours a dark copper with a small white head, no lace left on the glass. Aroma is a malty and caramel. Taste is thin but has some spicy malt backbone. Finishes dry with no lingering off flavors.

for a so-called macro, not too shabby, better than i remember, but being a "macro", loses points on overall taste.

Location: From tons of bars and bottles over the years.
Overall Impression: A beer that is really just achieving a purpose: being decent, reasonably priced, and highly available. You'll see me order this over quite a few of the other Macros when choices are very limited.

Pours amber/red into a shaker. Head quickly subsides to skim rim. Fruity caramel aromas. Almost painfully dry with upfront tropical fruit flavors. Mildly bitter finish.

Bottle. Pour is a coppery red with a finger of dense foam on top. Aromas of sweet caramel and spice. In the flavor, the malt takes on more of a nut character with a bit of fruit and spice.
