Pours a dark red with about a finger of white head. Aroma of caramel and honey. Taste is sweet. Lots of caramel and toffee. Medium bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, not bad. One of the better beers produced by Coors.

If we were judging by volume consumed, Killian’s Irish Red would be my number one beer, thanks to multitudinous college nights at The Georgia Theater and The Nowhere Bar in the late nineties. But it’s been a good seven years since I’ve had a Killian’s Red, and time has not been kind. Smells mildly sweet and dirty, with a little corny badness underneath. Pours better than your usual macro crap, with actual orange-red color and a thin off-white head. Tastes bad, though, conjuring up all those nightmare evenings where my only friends were sidewalk trashcans and homeless antiauthoritarians who would warn me of nearby cops. Dirty dishwater malts combine with a bubbly, useless texture to result in cleverly-masked macrobeer. Have a great night. (8/08)

12 oz bottle into lager glass. Pours an almost clear copper with a good head with nice retention. Lacing is good, just short of excellent. Aroma is completely bland--like a pale lager--some faint grain and that’s it. Taste is faint caramel--mostly sweet with a light bitter hop bite. Carbonation is medium-high, body is light. Bland--not surprising.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and a bit of honey, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Draught at Boardwalk, Cocoa Beach, FL, on Jan 29, 2011Clear copper to light brown color, off-white head. Malty, bread, grainy, butter, fudge taste. Moussy mouthfeel, medium low bitterness. Malty aftertaste. Sweet, malty, butter scent.

On Tap, This is an excellent beer for beginners....it’s sweet and doesn’t have an after taste. It’s a great jump start to some heavier, better quality beers. I wouldn’t drink in a bottle. This is a nice start to get some one away from crappy ass American domectics like, Bud Light, MGD, or Coors!!!

Since this was the only beer with over 600 ratings I had not tried I figured it was time. Nose of a little green apple and caramel. Clear burnt orange with a medium beige head. Flavor is a bit of pepperiness and caramel along with a background cider note.
