(bottle, 25cl) Hazy, ruby amber colour with a big and tanned foamy head. Yeasty and slightly fruity dark malty aroma with notes of caramel and a tinge of maple syrup. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a lively, a bit sharp carbonation. Slightly sugary dark malty taste with caramel and a mildly spicy touch; moderately sweet and slightly spicy cara-malty finish with muted alcoholic strength. Plain. 10.I.13

25 cl. bottle sample @ 18th Christmasbeer festival in Essen. For whatever mysterious reasons, Benzai really wanted to try this one. Dark amber with no head. Smell is caramel, doppel-bock like to me, metallic, sugar, speculaas, herbs. Taste is sweet speculaas, caramel, toffee, iron, bitter herbal with brown sugar. Body is a bit fizzy. Not that bad, there are things to enjoy here.

Bottle sample @ 18de Kerstbierfestival, Essen 2012.

15/XII/12 - 33cl bottle @ Kerstbierenfestival (Essen) - BB: n/a (2012-1374) Thanks to the Belgian/Dutch ratebeer crew for sharing our beers!
Clear red beer, no noticeable head. Aroma: bit sweet, caramel, almost no aroma, and no, not because it's too cold. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: little bitter, nutty, malts, grains, hoppy, hint of caramel. Aftertaste: bit nutty, caramel, grains, bitter ending, alcohol warming the throat.
