December 2008: This brown 33cl bottle which had a long neck and was very un-Belgian in shape. It had a normal cap, but there were two holes for a flip-top style closure on the neck as well. Claims to be ’Naturally Sugar Free’ and 100% malt. On my return from Antwerp in December (an 11 hour nightmare of a journey, due to accidents and idiots) I dropped this bottle on my drive as I unloaded the car. Luckily it landed on its cap, but it loosened the seal and began spurting out. I managed to save about 25cl and this is the review. Poured into a Palm tulip glass the shook up beer was a pale milky white colour and very cloudy (well I had dropped it). The head of white foaming bubbles stayed as I wolfed the beer down, remember I’d been sat in the car for 11 hours! The label mentions spices and I found coriander in both the aroma and taste, or I think I did. Obviously fairly malty in the taste and aroma too, this was a good well balanced Blonde and I wish I’d got two of them instead of just the one. I really enjoyed this beer, but after the journey a warm pint of Fosters Skippy Piss might have tasted OK.

Bottle @ home shared with dad. Gusher. Hazy orange color with a lot of floaties, small off-white head that leaves a nice lacing. Smells like tomato-juice mixed with red wine: a big no for that combination. Taste sour-bitterness, a hint of chocolate somehow and again I’m reminded of tomato-juice. Weird stuff. Don’t like it.

Bottle looks simple, but good. The beer in the glass very zippy, huge head. Starts strong, some alcoholic notes, a bit of lemon, sourish. Finish a bit moldy, still sourish, a bit too dry. Only Average.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A golden beer with floaties and a small, off-white head. Nice citrusy nose, fruity, with some cellar, and biscuity pale malts. Nice fruity flavor with a fine spicyness and bitterness. Some citrus, and a fine bitterness in the end. Dry and full-bodied. A decent blond, quite easy drinking, and tasteful enough to repeat. 091024

Bottle, 6.8%. Good spicy aroma, some coriander. Cloudy yellow colour. Small stable white head. The flavour is sweet with a little flowery spice and some clove. Tastes a bit like wit.
