25cl bottle (7,5%) from Comptoir des Fagnes beer store near Couvin in Belgium. F: big, creamy, beige, long lasting. C: amber, almost clear. A: mellow fruity, peach, bit honey, caramel, spicy, banana, brown sugar. T: medium to full malty base, mellow fruity, banana, bit leaves, spicy, caramel, dry on the palate, decent bitterness, medium carbonation, not Belgian ale yet tripel but for me like dubbel, ok balanced beer, enjoyed for sure.

Bottle from LDW, Eke. Hazy dark amber colour, white foam. Sweet fruity nose of plums. Malty. Light sweet, bitter finish. Well balanced. Nice.

Tap at Phred’s. cloudy orange-gold, pretty. Very funky Belgian yeast nose. Tart and a bit oxidized, apricot, oranges. Good balance and nice tartness. Certainly aged, but that seems to have helped.

Tap at the Delirium Café, Brussels. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is yeast, light sweet malt. The flavour is moderate sweet with a yeast, light medicinal, alcoholic bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nothing special.

Pours murkey blonde/ mild amber. Small white head. Smell is grainy. Some sweet maltyness blended in rather comple with the grainy side of it. Taste is bitter , with much from the yeast ( overripe fruits, but less banana than you’d think ) . Some malty base that shines trough, but more like the tripel sweetness we all know to well. Its like a tripel that streches the boundries of every aspect further, but that also means there’s no direction or line in it, and it looses balance and subtility which a tripel is usually rather good at. Slightly to much carbo for my taste, but agreeable for the style. Not bad, I like the intensity, but it could turn better if it mellowed a bit out ( and had a better color )

Tripel celebrating the Gilles de Binche, a famous carnival tradition. Irregular, yellowish white, coarse head, warm golden blonde colour with orange hue, misty. Aroma of melon, mango, banana, kiwi, orange liqueur, brown sugar, ginger, grass, young cheese, soap. Assertive fruitiness in the mouth, lots of citrus, well-balanced sourishness, rather sharp carbo, supple and slick mouthfeel, light spiciness, hop bitterish finish with some warming alcohol. Nice and well-balanced, like most beers coming from Silenrieux.

33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Willems. BBF 12/2014. Darker amber, creamy white head. Nose is sweet caramelized apples, honey, syrup, brown sugar, thick malts,… Sweet malts, caramel, candy sugar, syrup, plenty of maple syrup, sweet leaves, sticky, soda-like heavy characteristic which I cannot really place, sweet spices, almost Chapeau Faro-like additives,… Lightly sticky, easy to drink. Very sweet, nice soda-like fare. This almost taste like a tampered with, additives etc. style faro. Unsuspected but interesting & not entirely bad.
