This is our atypical take on an English stout. But our stout is more accessible than its British counterpart because of the sweeter flavour and the less pronounced caramel taste.

Clear dark copper, light beige rocky froth. Aroma has light roasted notes and some caramel. Sugary sweet flavour, cola, malt syrup. Charming.

Bottle from Prima Beer. Hazy brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and light roasted malt. Flavor is quite sweet. Sweet finish. Sugary and sticky. 220316

Dunkel orange braunes Bier mit einer mittelgroßen beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch getreidig malzig, leicht karamellig, metallisch hopfig. Geschmack süß malzig, brauner Zucker, Karamell, interessant.

Clear deep chestnut brown colour, small frothy beige head, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, dark chocolate, brown sugar, caramel. Taste is heavy sweet, sugary, liquorice. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, sweet sugary aftertaste, hint of bitterness in the finish. Old-school Belgian stout, very much like a Dutch Oud Bruin.

F: thin pale brown, not long lasting. C: very dark red to dark, clear. A: caramel malt. T: very sweet, caramel, malt, some like fruity tones, light body, average carbonation, for stout very bad, I don’t understand why they brewed this.

Bottle. Bought this a little blind. Nose: Non-existant slight malt a little sugar and wet cardboard. Taste is horrific. Sugar and sweet malts, with a sickly finish. Slight emerging milk chocolate, but really it’s just sugar. My first Het Sas beer, and I will not be rushing back, I can’t recall a worse Belgian beer.

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly deminishing head. Dark red amber colour. MOderate malty and light hoppy and light yeasty aroma. Light bitter flavor. Molre fruity notes than roast and chocolate. Average finish. Oily palate. Typical belgian stout. More fruit than dark malts.

Bottle. Pours black with small light brown head. Aroma is vague with hints of malt, coffee, apple pie and barnyard. Taste is very sweet, light acidic and faint bitter. Body is oily with light carbonation. Finish is long and mostly sweet with notes that follow the nose. It’s more like a sweet schwartz bier than a stout.

Look: clear deep red-brown, big beige head.
Aroma: lageresque, sulphury aroma, a hint of black malts and toasted bread. A touch of hops.
Taste: sugary sweetness, brown sugar, never really balanced by hop bitterness, as the after taste remain cloying.
