For the season we offer you our best wishes and especially delicious Ale. Rich and dark like our Dubbel. Sumptuous and smooth like our Tripel. Enjoy.

@Antwerpen zeer fruitig aroma, gist en gerst smaak zeer zoet van rood fruit (kersen), licht zurig (appel) , licht bitter, bijzondere body (vrij stevig) , stevig alcohol Algemeen is dit een zeer mooie donkere Belgische bier; met een goede complexiteit en een bijzonder sterke smaak, ééntje om van te genieten --- Beer merged from original tick of Noël (Christmas Ale) - on 17 May 2018 at 11:24 - Score: 8

Corner bar near our hotel in Brussels in between Christmas 2011 and New Year: had two as nightcaps. Not as dark as I expected, this was a deep amber colour almost reddy brown in fact, cloudy/murky haze to it, on top a small head of off-white bubbles. Sweet nose, almost sugary, caramel for starters with other malty bits for main course and dessert. The taste was also sweet malts but with some liquorice and spicey hop content too. Must not forget the yeasty feel to all the flavours and smell, this hung over the whole tasting like a ghost: reminding you that it’s a Belgian Christmas beer you’re drinking.

I didnt realize it until I read the label, but this is somewhere between a dubbel and a tripel with a little holiday spice added, delicious.

Bottle. Toffee malt aroma. Medium brown color. Sweet toffee malt flavor with only a slight hint of spice. Not very spicy but very tasty.

750ml bottle from Pick’s poured into a Trappist glass. 2009 vintage I believe. Pours a cloudy brown, almost purple, with a bit of white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of lots of Belgian sugar, dark fermented fruit and some nice spices. Taste is light sweet and very very lightly sour. Taste is everything mentioned above with just a slight bit of sour green apple. Full bodied with a creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, very good. I would like to try a fresh one to try the difference but I think the almost 3 years of aging has made this very good.
