Smoked beer with the special Alvinne twist. Rauchmalt, combined with a spicey herbal yeast. Very nice.

On tap at Borefts I. Clear dark red - brown beer. Minerally nose. Crisp light palate. Tangy malty toffee with a trace of bubblegum. None of it sweet! The smoke is very light. A contrasting bitter aftertaste.

Hazy brown-mahoney body. Creamy brown head. Lightly malty, lightly smokey, floral aroma. Moderately bitter smokey flavour - lightly malty. Ok, but not very special.

2010 Vintage 33 cl. bottle shared @ friend’s house: A: red brown with an off-white head S: sweet berries, smoke, sugar, T: smoke, leather, some sweetness, plenty of bacon, wild herbs B: touch, light sparkling // sample fresher bottle @ brewery: age has really helped this beer, it has gotten deeper with a stronger leather & bacon taste, evened out a bit the red berries & touch of herbs in the aftertaste which were more present in the fresher sample, carbonation has eased down quite a bit with age but still serious // nice simple, yummy, very drinkable beer

Cloudy, hazy, very dark colour. Light brown head. Smells like pizza, ginger and ’kroepoek’. Tastes ginger, rosemary and sour. Fizzy carbo, light body.

Bottle looks a bit confusing. Beer in the glass dark, almost black, small head. Starts malty and dry, modest smokey, a bit sourish. Fruity hints of plum. Finish milder, less malty, still a bit sourish. Okay.

Bottle @ home, shared with DutchDrebus. Gusher! Cloudy, hazy almost black color, opaque, light brown / beige head. Smell rosemary, sweetness, lightly smoked and other spices or herbs. Taste spices, herbs, ginger, rosemary. Carbo firm, body medium. Maybe even too high carbonation. Not good.
