Borefts Beer Festival IV. Day 1. Opaque black beer, little pale tan head. Light dry crispy palate. Very mild dark malts. A little lactose. Super mild whisky. Semi dry finish. A bit wishy washy for a BA beer but all right overall.

On tap at Borefts Beer Festival, Bodegraven, Netherlands, Friday 28th September 2012 Pleasant barrel aged beer with chocolate and more accurately dark chocolate or cocoa powder showing. Whisky is noticeable but doesn’t get in the way, some vanilla and a pleasant smoothness set this apart fron many other rather raw and crude barrel aged efforts. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

On tap at Borefts 2012, Bodegraven. Pours deep brown with a fine, off-white bubble head. Good dark bread nose with sturdy whisky character. Medium sweet flavor with some dark fruits, dark toasted bread, definite whisky barrel. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderate whisky character to finish, nice smoked malts, very subtle chocolate. Exceptionally well balanced beer, and impressively nuanced given the relatively low ABV.
