Crisp and clear, beautiful copper coloured body with a thinnish, tan head along with a dash of an off-white head that fades very quickly and only really starts out at about a centimetre tall. Aroma of malted barley, light earthiness and some rustic qualities, a lot of grain, a good deal of yeast with a hint of breadiness and a touch of unfinished caster sugar still around. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive malty and biscuity flavours show first with some light bitterness from the malts and a touch of alcohol showing up towards the end, but the relative earthiness and yeast qualities dominate without leaving much other room for complexity given that the flavours are largely pungent malts and astringent yeast. Aftertaste shows some softer sugars from pure caster sugar (I wish it was more complex than that) with some malted barley grain notes and a dash of floral hop bitterness at the very end that shows some foreign hops here without much alpha acids. Overall, about what I expected from this - not a bad beer by any means, but not a showstopper. That said, when here in Montana and there aren't as many options as other places, this is a good offering to try. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle, purchased from Vintage Sellers in Great Falls, Montana exactly a year ago on 18-June-2019 for US$1,75 sampled a year later back at home in Washington on 18-June-2020 hoping to visit Montana again soon!

12oz bottle. Best before June 2016. Poured into a Schlenkerla mini (25cl) willibecker glass. Darker than expected color. A clear amber brown. Carbonation bubbles travel through the beer for a while. I again have no idea what wonderfulness Bayern is pulling off but the strong malty and clean aroma is making me swoon. Carmel yet super clean sweet malts and just a bit of noble hop on the nose, less so in the flavor. Not much more to say, its simple yet awesome.

Bottle: Pours a clear, copper/orange with a modest beige head. Sweet aroma is grassey with a bit of dough. Flavors is also sweet, but earhthy and some faint bitters. The higher abv is apparent, but not overwhelming. A nice version of the style.

Bottle. Poured burnished coper with thin fast dissipating white head. Little lacing. Rather thin aroma, come caramel, some malt. Full flavour, lot of sweet malt, caramel and toffee. Full finish, with a bit of saltiness..

Aroma of medium malt. Nice amber color with an ephemeral white head. It starts a bit thin bodied. Moderate carbonation. The initial is a somewhat watery sweetness, and as the fluid leaves there is a surge of medium dark malt flavor. No burnt, no roast, just malt. There does not seem to be much hop until way into the finish. This is all about malt.
