Do not open ‘til Christmas? Whoever coined that phrase obviously hasn’t tasted Christmas Ale’s fresh honey, cinnamon, and ginger flavors.

Just the 146 days left to go until Christmas Day, so this drink is coming a little early, although it was bought for me as a present by my sister for the last one. Lightly spiced sugary seasonal effort - it's not a particularly summery summer day today so this beer downs the palate well enough with plenty of strength and body

Bottle pour (freshest taste, enjoy by 2/16/25) at 1833 Restaurant, Oberlin. Clear, dark amber with thin head, quickly fading to a ring, no lacing. Aroma is malt and vague holiday spice with vigorous sniff. Taste is strong holiday spices. Smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation, finish as taste. Neither strong nor complex. Meh.

Clear copper pour, small off white head. Lots of baking spices, syrup soaked bread, and some apples. Good mouth feel, good carb. Finish is big on the baking spices again, lots of cinnamon, ginge and cloves. A bit of a spice bomb at the end.

Bottle at Peggy and Pete's. Dark red amber, super small head. Christmas spice nose, cinnamon and honey. Pretty big body with hints of warming brown sugar, lots of caramel malt, a bit astringent bitterness/aftertaste (red X?).

Optisch dunkles Kupfer im Glas, in der Nase würzig, Karamell. Im Trunk ebenso Karamell, Zimt, Spekulatius, Weihnachtsgewürz, passt gut in die Jahreszeit.
