Admittedly, it’s a bit of a paradox to name our Amber Lager for history’s most famous agent of prohibition. But it’s a smooth, malty (and dare we say, arresting?) paradox.
Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland’s most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub's bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

Deep amber in color with a solid white head. Caramel, spice, grainy in aroma and flavor, some floral notes too. Really solid sessionable beer.

12oz bottle from Chucks poured into a lager glass. Light amber with 2 finger of frothy off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt. Taste starts out lightly sweet and ends lightly bitter. Slight taste of caramel. Medium light bodied with a somewhat thin yet sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a slightly bitter finish. Overall, not too shabby. Not my favorite beer from these guys but definitely drinkable.

12 oz bottle got in a trade with drfabulous. Used a pint. Nice red poor with lively carbonation. Although no head. Nose of malt and caramel, very pleasing. Flavor is much the same. Caramel with toffee to give it a touch of sweetness, a little bit of hops to balance the sweetness. This is really drinkable.

Bottle. Poured a light copper color, with a thin white head. Aroma was malty, almost a biscuit. Flavor was crisp and clean, not exactly my thing, but not bad. Enjoyable enough.

8/29/2009 Pours a deep ruby/amber color with a huge bubbly beige that leaves lots o lace on the way down the glass. Smell is a sweet fruity malt aroma with a hint of earthy floral hops. Taste is sweet with malts. Burnt sugar caramel fruity and bready with just enough of a hop bite about midway through to keep the sweetness in check. Crisp carbonation, medium body, Oily almost creamy sensation in the mouth. It’s been a while since I’ve had a great Lager. This is one. Easy drinking smooth sessionable brew.
