Bavarian tradition, the archetype of the Munich beer, you can taste its history – this is Hofbräu Dunkel. Long before wheat beers and lagers wetted the throats of Germans, the bottom-fermented dark beer was quenching the thirst of Munich residents. The first beer, which was served in the "Braune Hofbräuhaus", still satisfies to this day with its roasted, hoppy taste and the subtle malty finish.

Brown with a creamy, beige head. Toasted grains aroma. Caramel. Bitter with a roasted character. Caramel underneath. Medium-bodied, mild carbonation. Tasty.

En jarra, color cobrizo oscuro-rojo profundo, limpia, espuma blanco lino de mediana conservación. Aroma a malta tostada con una punta de caramelo. En boca es suave, cuerpo medio a ligero, bebible, sabor principalmente de maltas tostadas, con notas de caramelo, pan tostado y cierto regustillo de café torrefacto. Una dunkel de fácil beber y más que aceptable.

0,5 l bottle from kappldav123. Thanks a lot, mate! Clear dark brown in the glass, more than one finger pale beige foamy head. Soft malty aroma. Taste starts also malty, increasing roasted, little bit metallic. More grainy in the second part. Low but present bitterhop. Easy drinking nice one.

Bottle from a local supermarket. Looks simple but good. Beer in the glass with a nice small head. Fine roasty malty aroma. Starts mild, fine roasty malty, some shy chocolate hints, some liquorice. Finish well balanced, spicy-roasty malty. I like it.
