Harking back to the Porters of mid 19th Century London, our Porter is brewed with a traditional malt bill of pale, brown and black malts to create a rich flavour and dark colour. This modern exploratory interpretation of a classic favourite is sure to age gracefully.

(Draught at the brewery, 12 Apr 2014) Black colour with lasting, creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, chocolate, cacao and toasty malt. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, coffee, cacao, a touch of vanilla and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of milky sweetness. Well made and very tasty, exceptionally well balanced. My first from this brewery, but hopefully not the last. Lovely porter.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours deep brown with a creamy beige head. The aroma is quite dynamic, with predominating roasted malts, some baking cocoa, lightly tangy dark fruits, some milk chocolate. Medium sweet flavor with nice, velvety chocolate character, some bitter burnt wood and earth, charcoal, raisins and burnt toffee. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Robust roasted malt finish with some edgy baking cocoa, charred bread, hard water minerality and leathery fruits. Well balanced with nice complexity. Another winning dark beer from BBNo.

330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with late awakening, small, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Chocolately dark malty aroma, hints of cocoa, milk chocolate, coffee, which somehow can’t deny their grainy origin. Taste is roasty dark malty, bitter, notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee; full (somehow heavy) body,
