I never knew a beer brewed with mustard could be good. But smisje proves in this weird brew that it can be tasty.

Quite hazy golden brown colour, white head. Malty aroma, caramel, bread, toast and light mustard. Malty flavour, light sweet, light sour touch, mustard in the back. Finish malts, caramel, light lemon, light warm mustard.
Light mustard, quite balanced. Quite nice!

Bottle. Hazy amber appearance, small white foamy head, cinnamon-cumin aroma, sweetish spicy cherry taste, low carbonation, spicy finish with liquor aftertaste. It tastes like a lambic beer.

On-tap in Daisey’s: Brugge, on 18th Oct 2012. Light golden in body with white lacing. Would never have guessed this was a ’mustard’ beer unless I’d been told. I couldn’t find a trace of mustard flavours in my glass: aroma wise or in the taste. I thought it interesting and yeasty, hints of spices and candid fruits but no mustard for me. This was my first beer of the evening so my tatse buds should have been fit enough to find some mustard if there was any! Try it please: but the mustard presence is low, or at least it was in my 33cl glass.

Farmer’s Cabinet, Philly tap: Pours an orange color with a white head. Aroma is Belgian yeast. Taste is kind of light like mineral water flavored with beer. I didn’t really get too much mustard taste out of this. Basically, this is just a slightly sweet Belgian ale. I’ve had better, and I’ve had worse.

Pours a copper colour with intense carbonation. Some acidic citric notes in the aroma. Very strong carbonation in the mouth. A hint of mustard is just about tracable. Although this one has a malty, sticky sweetness the texture is quite thin and watery.

bottle@home: extremely hazy mud/amber coloured, head was white & very, very aggressive when I poured it but eventually settled down & turned out to be surpassingly lasting, smelled a lot sweeter than I expected it to with earthly hop, spices & even fruit, taste was heavy on spices with it actually being a little bit spicey/hot but not as much as I expected it to be, very earthly hop, malt heavy body and yet it is rather light & has a touch of sweet mustard seeds, not as over the top as I expected it to be but certainly unique and interesting, slightly bitter

At Ebenezer’s Pours Pours out a hazy amber topped with a tall head. Aroma was spice, yeast, clove, bread, and some malt. Taste was much as the aroma with a nice spice on it.

Bottle: Poured a clear color with bubble white head. Aroma is very nice sweet with spice and malt. Taste has a bitter hops bite, some floral maybe from the mustard seed.
