Zoigl served at Schafferhof in Neuhaus, 50 cl from tap there. Membrane-lacing, pillowy, egg-white, thick and stable head on a clear, warm golden beer with 'old gold' glow and strings of visible fizz. Aroma of freshly baked bread, spice bread, rusk, dried chamomile, white pepper, dried thyme, cheese rind, minerals. Malt-fruity onset, lightly sweetish, softish carb, smooth bread-crusty malts, fresh 'baguette' and spice bread, refinedly spicy hops, very floral, dried herbs, mildly but effectively bitter, while the bread-crustiness persists. Lovely old-fashioned, very Bavarian Lager - perfect on a hot summer evening in the Oberpfalz!

0.5l tap and 2l growler. Unclear orange golden with a foamy head. Dry zesty notes, yeasty, citrussy, sourdough, grain, bread, lemongrass, hay, freshly mowed grass. Mild dry sourness, grainy sweetness, some bitterness. Medium to full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry zesty grainy finish. Great Zoigl, as it is supposed to be.

From 1L bottle at Bor's tasting. Slightly hazy golden colour. Little head. Aroma's are butter(y) and light fruit. Retronasal it's buttery, fruity, malty. Flavour is quite malty sweet. Light bodied. A hint of bitter in the finish. A bit too buttery and sweet.

“Schafferhof-Zoigl“, vom Faß im Schafferhof in Neuhaus am Zoigltag 2019. - Hell goldbraun, leicht trüb. - In der Nase Brotkruste, milde Hefe, milder herbaler Hopfen. - Antrunk leicht toastig hellmalzig mit intensiver ätherisch-kräuteriger Hopfenherbe. Anklänge an Waldhonig und Orangenschale. Wenig rezent, glatt. Im Abgang lang nachhallende kräuterige Herbe und ganz dezente Altersnoten. - Vergleichsweise intensiv, fast schon scharf kräuterig (minzig) gehopfter Zoigl, dennoch reich, tief und süffig. Tap at the Zoigl Stub. Lemon / orange, sherbet, light honey, biscuits, bready malts in the nose. Glowing orange color, effervescent. High, rocky head. Lightly tangy flavor with rich melanoidins, deep Munich-like malt flavor, with a tiny bit of caramel nd a lovely peppery hop finish, tingling on the tongue. Quite Czech-like. Suffig and delicious. Love it.

On tap at Schafferhof. Hazy dark golden with a lasting white head. Herbal hoppy aroma with yeast and a mineral touch. Sweetish malty flavour with red apples and orange, and a mild hoppy finish.
