50cl bottle from Lidl, Blackwater. A bright amber pour with an immediately disappearing white head, and lots of carbonation; aroma of vanilla, berries, and Shep yeast; lively in the mouth with a predominantly vanilla taste; and a dry prickly finish leaving a sweet fruity shortbread aftertaste. Not quite the promised strawberries and cream - more strawberry jam and custard - but an interesting idea, and a light fruity summer beer.

500ml clear bottle: BBD 06/2016 poured into an ’Old Speckled Hen’ badged vase during the 2015 Wimbledon Mens Final. Bright amber body with a white head. I thought the first half of this beer was lovely, but as it warmed a little in the glass I began to lose interest. Started off with a strong vanilla aroma, some red berry esters too. The taste was also vanilla flavoured, a bit Raspberry Ripple Ice Cream like in the mouth. Later it seemed too sweet with a shandy/lemonade feel. If I had shared this the scores would have been a lot higher: shows you should not take ’Danish Pints’ when tasting beers!

Bottle from Lidl and drunk at home. Clear gold thin bubbles on top. Some cream on aroma some strawberry which carries onto the flavour. There is also something artificial about the aroma that is not attractive. Bit lactic. Have to admit I am not keen and will pour the rest away.

Bottle from Lidl, Sowerby Bridge. Copper with a small head. Has a strawberry-sweet nose with some in its flavour, although texture wise it is slightly thin.
