This medium-bodied, amber German-style lager combines frighteningly smooth malt flavor with a haunting, spicy finish of cinnamon and nutmeg, for a scary good brew that is definitely... All Treat, No Trick.

Can. Ok, I get it, 31 is for October 31st, Halloween. Amber in color with a three finger head. Aroma and taste is like other pumpkin spiced beers but this one is really good.

Pretty rich, very deep brown coloured body with a deep muddied ruby glow and some copper notes with a thick three to four centimetre tall tan head that has some large bubbles and is very beautifully hazy amber. Aroma of very strong spice notes with some rye and aniseed along with fennel and a dash of grassy and biscuity malts here that are strong but showing a bit less than all the spices with some yeastie and bready qualities as well. Light to Medium-bodied; Relatively strong toffee and caramelised sugar notes with a good deal of spices here as well, with some deep lager yeast pungency as well with a big rye note as well, but enjoyable throughout with a lot of complexity, especially for a lager. Aftertaste shows the deep spice flavours with a good rich and robust malty quality with some noticeable crisp and pungent toasted grainy qualities from the malt, but not much sweetness or depth here, especially at the end. Overall, a robust and rather earthy, slightly nutty and sweet beer with a pretty large malty quality along with a deep yeast bite here. Nice to sample, but not the best beer i've had in the style, but at least it was complex and different, instead of the same old beer for an anniversary. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Gettysburg Beer Mart in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on 31-January-2023 for US$2,99 sampled in my hotel room here in Exmore, Virginia on the Virginia Eastern Shore on 25-February-2023.

Poured from 355mL can. Hazed amber brown with small light beige head. Light toffee and caramel malt with very feint cinnamon and nutmeg. Pretty bland for a pumpkin spice beer.

12 oz. can from Total Wine, Union, NJ. Pours a cloudy copper color with a large beige head and great retention. Decent lacing. Lightly spiced aroma (compared to average). Last new pumpkin beer of the year. The flavor is more pumpkin and less spicy than other pumpkin beers, with cinnamon and nutmeg leading the way. Not bitter. A good way to end pumpkin beer season.

If your favorite thing in the world is pure, unadulterated nutmeg, boy do I have a beer for you.

Can. Pours clear deep amber with a generous off-white head. Light spice aroma. Smooth and easy drinking, but the spice flavors are a bit thin.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 7/27/2016. Pours crystal clear deep orange/copper color with a small dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, cinnamon, nutmeg, light chocolate, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, spices, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, cinnamon, nutmeg, light chocolate, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal hop and spice bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, cinnamon, nutmeg, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, spices, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitter/spiciness, increasing through the glass. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately grainy/bready/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.7%. Overall this is a very nice spiced Munich dunkel lager style. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, spices, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, clean, and easy to drink. A bit more bitter/drying than the classic style due to the spice presence; but very well balanced and spot on otherwise. A very enjoyable offering.

Tap mad mex. When I saw dunkel, was hoping for just that. This is different fer sure. Pillowy rocky head. Brownish beer. Metallic aroma. Some metal carries over to the taste. Pretty strong for a beer called dunkel. Almost medicinal. Yes, spices override anything dunkel in here.
