Bottle picked up at the liquor store in Reykjavik. It pours jet black with a decent tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, boozy warmth, agave, spice, vanilla, toffee, aniseed, toasted marshmallow, rocky road, nougat, cookie dough and sugar mice. The taste is dry, bitter, rich roasted malt, vanilla, green, oak, vegetal, agave, raw booze, toasted marshmallow, chocolate, rocky road, mezcal and some spice with a drying and boozy finish. Full body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Intense stuff... Bonkers and punchy.

Bottle in Skuli bar, Reyjkavik. Mezcal BA. Opaque dark brown, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, spicy but light dark chocolate. Little dark chocolate cream. Mezcal brings a light and pleasing licorice aniseed spicyness and a very modest tequila vibe. A little earthy chocolate on the finish. Another nuanced and well delivered drinkable Impy from this fine Icelandic brewery.

Dark brown. Not much head. This is quite chocolatey on the aroma, with a light smoke and cactus note and a little bit of nuttiness. On the palate, it is chocolatey, and it's got a light smokiness, and a bit of wood. Interesting character.

12 oz. bottle, pours jet black with a small deep dark brown head. Aroma brings out loads of mezcal barrels upfront, with sludgy chocolate, roasted malt and a touch of wood. Flavour is very complex, with loads of chocolate fudge, gentle mezcal, and light wood. Chocolatey, lightly smoky, dry and gently barrel-y. Excellent.
