This barrel-aged ale uses barley, rye, and corn, plus cherry wood smoked malt to create a huge imperial stout. To top it alp off, we barrel age the beer for three months! The result is a rich and Imperial Smoked Stout with hints of caramel, vanilla, and spice.

Brewed with smoked Dark Matter coffee.

--Bottled. -- Aroma of coffee and smoke. Mid sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Liquorice, coffee, mild smokey chili and whisky. Warming bitter finish. Very intense, but retaining good balance.

Bottle. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is chili, alcohol, chocolate and mild liquorice with some caramel and mild alcohol tones to it. Flavour is coffee, some alcohol, some blackcurrant and mild spiciness.

ABV: 13.0%. Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, strong coffee, dusty coffee, barrel, moderate chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, coffee, chocolate, smoke, dark malt, caramel, rich, heavy. Body is medium to full, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20240313]

Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle poured into a glass. Clear dark brown with small beige, medium body, little lacing. Taste is burnt coffee, smoke, and wood.

Bottle from Theydon Bois at his Hazlemere tasting. Aroma of smokey coffee. Dark and glossy. Thin beige head. Bitter rich coffee. Thick. Creamy. Average carbonation. Long finish. Coffee goodness.

Bottle, split at the Hazlemere Movember and chops tasting, from CW online 12/11/21. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is light smoke, dark malts, chocolate, spice, charr, coffee bean. Taste comprises dark chocolate, spice, ashen tones, charr, coffee grinds, light smoke, umami. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kick of alcohol. Solid.

Bottle shared in Hazlemere - cheers to Cloin. Pours black-brown with a small, creamy tan head. Medium sweet flavour with some ashy roast, scorched earth, aged coffee. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish, more ash, cocoa, earthy coffee. Nice one.
