It's smooth, it's distinct, and it gets its name and spirit from VICE's bar (also called Old Blue Last, duh) in Shoreditch, London. Since the 16th century, the pub has embodied VICE; whether as an Elizabethan-era playhouse and home for artists like William Shakespeare, or when it used to house an illegal strip club filled with East End gangsters, the Old Blue Last has been a melting pot of culture and conversation. Since it became part of the VICE family, Old Blue Last has also hosted a variety of amazing musicians, including Amy Winehouse, Death Grips, Lily Allen, Lil B, Diplo, Black Lips, Arctic Monkeys, Florence + the Machine, and many, many more.

So needless to say, we love our London pub. But back to the beer.

It's made at Blue Point Brewery in Pathogue, Long Island, it's 5 percent ABV, and the flavor is clean, gose-influenced, a little sour, a little salty, and perfect for cracking open in your living room, at your favorite music venue, or on your best friend's rooftop. Plus, it comes in these pretty badass silver and gold cans.

So what are you waiting for? Sit down. Have a beer. Stay a while.

Creamy white head stayed on a hazy dark golden body body. Fruity aroma with faint malt & grass. Medium bodied, aerated on the palate with sharp clean back. Pale malt, tangy fruit, floral & peach tastes.

355ml can. Poured a slightly hazy yellow golden colour with a lasting frothy white head and a few bubbles. The aroma is malt, light watery citrus, toffee gluey yeast. The flavour is light sweet, light bitter with a watery skunky malt, sickly yeast, light soapy, mineral gluey palate. Light bodied with average carbonation. You would think that a brewery with AB Inbev's resources would strive to brew something a little better than this, but sadly not. Truly awful and who cares how badass the cans are.

26th March 2018; Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Group in Chez Sophie. Gold can, 355ml. Corn flavoured lager, not good. Looked like a cheap lager and tasted like one too! Cheers Mike for bringing this, at least the others knew of the venue it's named after.

355ml can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Mar 18, courtesy of mike. Thanks Mike. Pours a misty gold, small white head. Faint sweet malt aroma. Taste is light, refreshing but with a corny adjunct side to a light pale malt lager character that has more than a fleeting resemblance to Budweiser. I used to go the Old Blue Last years ago around the time it was bought by Vice. Good memories watching bands and drinking can after can of forgettable lager. I imagine this beer is brewed to serve that purpose, though odd to see it's available in Asda.

330ml can. Pours hazy light gold with a large head. Aroma is light sour corn, a little salt and lemon. Taste has salty crackers to start and a clean, lager finish. Seems a bit odd that this is brewed for the uk supermarket sector though?

Can from Asda, Halifax. Murky golden with a small head. Has some lager qualities, but its smoothish lemon does stand out.

Can. Asda. (This must be an alias?). Pale gold. Soft haze. Slim, white head. Nose has faint, peachy hop. Sweet grain. Taste follows suit, with an added tang of light sourness. Light body. Some acidity. Crisp fizz. Short (thankfully) lightly sour finish. I’d say this is definitely not a pale lager, although I’d struggle to offer up a better suggestion.
