Great Bustard
Stonehenge Ales in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England 🏴
Bitter - ESB / Strong Bitter Regular|

A dark amber coloured beer with a deep red hue traditionally brewed using only the finest quality of Stonehenge Spring Water, barley, rye, crystal and wheat malts, whole hops and the brewery’s own top-fermenting yeast. The complex malt and fruit flavours develop into a very pleasingly fruity and bitter aftertaste which lingers on. This fine beer was first brewed to celebrate the approval in November 2003 for the reintroduction of the Great Bustard bird onto the Salisbury Plain.

Cask @ Salhojankadun Pub
Rather light aroma with resin and hints of caramel. Flavour has resiny hops, some fruits, caramel, hints of toffee and woody notes. Nice, the resin fits here perfectly.

50cl bottle from a range of local beers in the village shop in Upavon, Wilts. A copper pour with a dense, voluminous cream head; rich malty aroma; and a rich malty taste too, with some orchard fruits; leading to a dry, fruity, toffee, finish. A good strong malty bitter.

Cask at The Market Porter. Pours dark amber with a beige head. Roasted malt aroma with a spicy hint. Flavor is smooth roast caramel with an underlying spice/bitter aspect. With time the malt is overcome a bit by the mild spice and bitter.

@ Old Green Tree, Bath. Dark amber. Toffeeish, with a dark fruity character and hints of orange. Complex, orangey, fruity, berryish with tasty dark sugars, but still a light refreshing body. Good stuff.

Cask-conditioned at the JDW on Whitehall 23/09/09. Dark amber with a decent, off-white head. Big, doughy malt aroma, with a touch of caramel and chocolate. Flavour was sweetish, with fudge, nuts and a rich, earthy finish. Very good.

That was my least expected find in the opening of Beer Factory in Athens. The only bottle they had. 0,5 lt (different label though red one with a turkey on it). Orange amber color with smallish head. Swett notes of caramels, toffee and hops. Hoppy flavour with hints of caramel and sweet malt. Moderat bitterness. Nice one.
