Legend has it that when the North Laine brewhouse ordered an excess of mango, the brewer decided to conduct a crazy experiment – and the result was crazily good. Now we just needed a name for the perky pale ale he created. Made from mango, and delicious – hmmm…

Taster from keg at ibis Hotel Brighton City Centre. Golden to orange colour. Terrible aroma and flavour of artficial "mango", also hints of artificial "passionfruit". I like real mango, occasionally even in beer, but not this crap. There is no way I could have finished a pint of this.

Half pint from the tap in the Dolphin, Southsea. Pours bright orange with a white head. Aromas & tastes of mango and hops. Medium body. Light bitter finish. Enjoyable enough but you've got to love mango.

Can from Lidl. Dark gold, small white head. Resonable mango flavour with a decent floral fop coming through. Semi-tart with a decent hoppy bitterness. Decent.

Half-pint, draught, shared with Finn at BeerKat. Clear amber-orange body, fair white head leaving dotted spots on the glass. Moderate smell of mango and ripe fruits. Flavoured with mango, ripe citrus, and mid-sweet malts. Malt-fruity endnote, a bit short, but fair enough. (Ealing Broadway, London, 26.09.2023).

Delt med Rune på BeerKat. Mørk stråfarget. Klar. Middels høuyt tett skum som saler sakte & etterlater tykk lacing. Lett parfymearoma. Smaken kunstig. Skal kanskje være mango. En liten tørr bitter avslutning.

Keg at the Ram Inn, Wandsworth. Orangeish brown, clear, with a small off-white head and good lacing. Marmalade aroma, a tiny bit possety which is odd. Bittersweet taste, some tannic notes, bitterness increasing to the finish. Mango iced tea in the aftertaste. Well-carbonated. Artificial but refreshing in a way I guess.

Keg at the Squirrel, Penn Street, 20/01/23. Clear golden with a white head. Nose is mango, orange zest, melon, soft malts. Taste comprises airy malts, melon, mango flesh, citric tinged straw, tangerine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close laden with mellow hop bitterness. Not bad to be fair ... was expecting an overly sweet number but not the case ... crisp clean and refreshing and would be good to sip whilst watching the cricket from in the front beer garden in the summer.
