Eher mild rezent, schlank, angenehm „griffiges“ Mundgefühl. Im Abgang ein wenig blaß erdig-trocken. - Sehr schönes, malzaromatisch-süffiges Frankenlager, trotz etwas schwacher Hopfung recht kernig. Allerdings kein „Hopfencognac“ - hier irrt Michael Rudolf.

o,50 bottle purchased in Franconia-Germany and consumed in Kosovo. Mortlach, beviiiiiiii. Pours a very brownish-dark amber color with a medium ivory foam with retention on the surface. Nose: burnt bread crust, a far too wired farmhouse note (mmmmh), a hint of liquor (Ballantines, something sweet or orangey). Mouth: amber-vienna malts orientation forward, easy drinking anyway, sweet character immediately cut by a bitter finish. Not that refined, a bit confusing although highly enjoyable.

Bottle sample at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks beerandbeyond. As Krug-Bräu Lager. Clear amber. Aroma of malt, caramel, graininess, vegetal notes and a bit of toast. Sweetish flavor, malty, with caramel, toast, a vegetal note, and a drier and slightly bitterish finish. Rather light-bodied.

On tap at the Pappenheimer Wirtschaft, Hamburg: 11th Dec 2014. Clear brown body with a lasting white head that gave impressive lacing. Malty and sweet in both the nose and taste. A very nice Dunkel, if like me you prefer the sweeter versions of the style. Uncomplicated and decent.

500ml bottle picked up at Bierothek in Bamberg. Poured a clear golden-brown coloured body. Lasting, fair lacing, white head. Smell and taste of pale and brown caramel malts. Hints of cardboard towards the ending. Has not got so much to offer (Grand tasting at the balcony, Fässla, Bamberg 12.10.2014).

Beautiful clear amber brown colour, small frothy off-white head, long lasting, fair lacing. Aroma roasted malts, grain, dough, hint of smoke. Taste medium sweet, bit roasted, slightly bitter, hint of caramel. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, in the finish mild bitter with roasty notes.

Deep dark brown with red tint. Thick white head. Great fresh malty aroma. Dry chalky mouthfeel. Moderately husky flavors are nice and dry. Solid, very nice.
