Cask @ St Stephen’s Tavern, Westminster London. As Badger Best. Golden with a thin head. Mildly sticky-sweet texture, not a ’best’ bitter, but drinkable.

Cask conditioned at the Ship & Shovell, Charing Cross. Amber coloured with next to no head. Aroma had a touch of caramel and a hint of grassy hops. Flavour was slightly sweet before a decent enough bitter finish. Ok, but not memorable.

Cask at New Inn, Canterbury Reddish copper colour, hop and yeasty nose with acidic yeasty flavour with some toffee malt and very floral hop finish. Can never decide if I like this beer or not. Sometimes it slides down nice, sometimes I can’t stand it.

Clear copper color, short head. Weak aroma of caramel malt, bit spicy. Weak taste, bit bitter. Bitter palate.

Well, when you're English ale comes in a can, you can't have too high expectations. It's not bad, and probably has a better yeast complexity on cask, but there are a lot of better English ales out there.
