A classic Porter with a hint of smokiness, the F.A.B Smokey Joe Porter is a mouth-watering drinkable dark beer.

Fiskerton station, just five miles from Lincoln served the surrounding villages and was important to the nearby RAF base during the Second World War. The station is long gone but our Porter with its hint of smokey flavour and aroma captures this bygone era of coal and steam.

Ingredients:
Water, Pale Malt, Crystal Malt, Peat Smoked Malt, Roasted Barley, Hops and Yeast. Contains: Gluten.

Bottle. A gift from Totnes. The person not the place. Deep cola brown. Nice swirly beige foam. Good sweet and semi savoury smoke here. Bit of a bonfire toffee thing, in fact. Fruit and nut. Light vinous edge. Taste is semi sweet with a tang of fruit. Possibly a tad thin overall but with a tangy smoky finish it’s got sank double sharp.

8th January 2024, Shrewsbury Beer Share in Chez Sophie, five guys and loads of beers! I brought along this 500ml bottle: BBE August 2024. Nice tanned topping on a black body, looked good. Mild smokey aroma and taste, over roasted malts more than 'smokey', more singed. Anyway I liked it.

Cask at the Great British Beer Festival 2017, day one - London. Pours black-brown with a foamy, tan head. The nose holds chocolate, light roast, burnt brown bread. Light to medium sweet with mellow smoke, hints of rubber, ash. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Balanced finish, some dry chocolate, more mild smoke. Not bad.
