Thin beige head on a reddish brown still body. Spiced fruit, caramel & malt aroma. Medium to thin bodied, lively on the tongue with a dry back. Malt, berries, spice & fruity tastes with a bitter finish. Is this a Red Bitter? All a bit wishy-washy.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up in a Dalston market. Pours clear copper with a foamy, off-white head. Nice and mild, has some bready malts, a little dough and caramel, light bitterness, British yeast, toffee. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, with notes of toasted biscuits, butterscotch. Simple and enjoyable.

Bottle from Aldi Supermarket, Keighley. Amber-red with a very thin head. Fairly standard mildly sweetened bitter. In terms of texture it's also mildly sticky-sweet, tasting slightly dry within its balanced hops and malts.

50cl bottle from Aldi, Bracknell. A reddish amber pour with a billowing beige head; aromas of purple fruit; sweet caramel malt taste with some musty fruit; and a light earthy bitterness. Reminded me of a watered down version of Hobgoblin. Unexciting.
