Not many people know this but peanut butter was originally patented in 1884, right around the time the 'Siege of Khartoum' was taking place. We suppose you're not really bothered about either of those facts and all you want to do is indulge in this rich and creamy porter. Dark malts combined with a healthy dose of lactose & natural peanut butter and banana flavourings will ensure you take siege of your senses.

Can on 1st November 2025 from Hops d’Amour, Coventry. Rated as a novelty ale. Pours inky sepia brown with tan foam and partial lacing. Strong banana aroma. Nutty peanut butter and roastiness in-mouth before a finish of dark chocolate-encased fruits. Smooth mouthfeel and a fair amount of body. Very pleasant and agreeable.

44 cl. can @ home, bought @ Una Mas, Nieuwegein. Clear brown with a beige head. Aroma of peanuts and (artificial) banana. Taste is on the sweet side with a long peanut flavored medium bitter finish. Although I generally frown upon artificially flavored beers I can't deny this one is really tasty and enjoyable.

Can from Cotteridge Wines; dark opaque black pour with a thin off white head, aroma has banana and dark chocolate, taste has sweet peanut butter, banana, chocolate, not bad for a massively adjunct porter.

Can sample at a tasting at troubles' place. Thanks Max & Stas. Brown. Caramel, toast, peanut butter, banana, kinda artificial, sweet, sugary, a bit of roast, bitterish finish. Not my thing.

Can @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Dark brown with a head. Crisp and smooth with its peanut butter usurping its banana, but never overbearing. There's a small toffee sweetness to its good dark malt character. Also has a hint of roasted.

Can bought to take away at the Ale Stone, Aylstone, Leicester. Dark brown, translucent with a small khaki head. Smells of marshmallow, milk chocolate and a hint of coffee. Maybe a bit of the suggested peanut better. Slight metallic note to the aroma as well. Tastes sweet and almost fruity, with a bitter hoppy edge to the finish. Chocolate, cola nut, foraged fruit in the aftertaste. Very nice.

Half pint at the Doncaster brewpub. Thick creamy beige head. Clear amber pour. I do get the banana and peanut butter. It's nicely balanced.
