Summer, you were grand. Now with the temperature dropping in London, we wanted to take inspiration from a warmer clime and this Mexican inspired take on an English classic does just that. Five different malts offer a full, creamy body with prominent chocolate flavours. Habanero chilli has been added during fermentation to create a beautifully balanced chocolate porter that truly warms the cockles.

Very dark brown with thin head. Aroma has lots of roasted malts. Flavour is bittersweet with malts, chocolate and vanilla. Not very spicy. Body is a bit light.

Draft. A dark brown beer with a thin lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of brown sugar, malt, and fruit. The flavor is sweet with with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and fruit, leading to a bitter finish.

Keg at the brewery tap. Damn near black, only the tiniest bit translucent with an incomplete loose ring of off-white head. Chocolate, sweet cooking chiliesand a bit of root liquorice in the aroma. Balanced taste: sweet with some countering bitterness from the roasted malt. It tastes a bit of plastic as well, adding an unfortunate feeling of artifice to an otherwise enjoyable beer. Not the best strong porter out there, but decent enough. Glad I tried it,

Marrón, mu oscuro, casi negra con espuma de color beige de duración corta. Aroma a maltas tostadas, regaliz y cacao. Sabor ligeramente dulce, tostado y leve a caramelo. Final tostado, con cierta maltosidad. Muy lejos de una buena porter

Keg at Wild Beer Jessop House. Pours very dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate, chilli. Taste is chocolatey, roast malts, the chilli hit is quite mild but is a nice touch, bittersweet. Medium body, smooth, soft carbonation. Possibly a little lacking at this abv but nice enough I liked it.

Caña en Cimmeria 06..12.. 2018. (r11).

Taster at brewery. Unfortunately, i had this after the Nightfall, and it pales in comparison. Aroma and taste are sweet, and more just straight up sugar than Mexican chocolate. There are sweet chocolate notes, but not the smoky, bitter chocolate you usually get.
