Colne Beer Festival 2023. Clear copper-gold with a nice glow to its appearance. Earthy hops give it a tasty enough bready-malty appeal, with a mid bitterness at best.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A bright amber pour with a tight white head; fresh hedgerow hop aroma; strong resinous bitterness to start with a caramel malt body; then a dry finish with lingering pine resin and grapefruit peel.

500ml bottle. Poured a clear medium amber colour with a short-lived frothy white head and a few bubbles. The aroma is malt, nutty caramel, woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a slightly light, watery, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. The hops are right, but overall the beer seems a little light and possibly slightly over-carbonated.
